Logging Off Club: December
A space to feel more present, connect with others and rekindle your curiosity. Founded by friends.
Reflections
Adele: Last week, we hosted our first Logging Off Club event and it was incredible! It was so lovely to be in a room together with no screens in sight, it almost felt like time slowed and for 2 long hours we were totally present. October Books hosted us for a cosy night of festive games, sweet treats and then late night book browsing (and inevitable buying).
My cheeks are still aching from all the laughs and smiles, so thank you so much to everyone who came along and for those who didn’t - we’re already planning the next so don’t worry, we will keep you posted here.
As we’re in the peak of the festive season, it is easy to slip into comparison. As the feed is flooded with photos of beautiful homes, happy families, gift guides and we see more adverts than any other time of year - this can all become a source of pressure. In the past I’ve definitely felt that I *should* be spending my Christmas and New Year a certain way, or feeling I have to be constantly happy and cheerful, but this year I’m releasing the pressure from myself and just treating each day as it comes.
Our HQLT this month
(high-quality-leisure-time)
INDIA:
The ritual of burning my advent candle, wrapping presents, allotment planning, evening card games, and cooking warm winter salads.
ADELE:
Pompom making, reading fiction before getting out of bed, playing articulate with friends, and listening to the songs I loved as a teenager.
Good news you won’t see on social media
Dozens of dock workers in Greece banded together in October to prevent a ship being loaded with 21 tonnes of ammunition bound for Israel. Responding to the call from the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions, the workers union formed a human chain to block a truck carrying the cargo from North Macedonia.

Where we’re walking
Adele: This month I visited the breathtaking Knole in Sevenoaks with a friend’s walking group, which is a national trust site. Full of deer (even white ones!) and parakeets, this park is a wonder, it reminded me of Richmond Park minus the crowds.
It makes a lovely day trip out of London. You can get a fast train from London Bridge and then it’s a 15 minute walk from Sevenoaks station, we then ate at Number 8, which was delicious.
What we’re listening to
A journaling prompt for you to ponder when you’re next logging off
Where can I make space for creativity and curiosity in 2025? What creative and playful things do I want to do more of in the next year?
(Adele’s will not be crocheting - I almost had a meltdown trying to crochet a bonnet so I’ll be ordering one on Vinted instead).
A bonus gift from us…
Something to do over the festive period:
We hope you all have a lovely end to the year and get to spend it being cosy with your loved ones!
See you in 2025,
